23 million from Russia, a “loan” to her husband and the sale of Ukrainian assets for pennies: how the wife of ex-National Deputy Rabinovich saves the family fortune during the war

Irina Rabinovich, the wife of former MP Vadim Rabinovich, who is now under suspicion of high treason, became involved in several high-profile cases related to the rescue of her husband’s assets.

Against the background of the ban of the party and the flight of her husband to Israel before the start of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, new details of the dubious agreements of the Rabinovich family are emerging.

Vadim Rabinovich left for Israel just two weeks before the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Rabinovich then used his Israeli passport to leave the country, leaving behind many questions.

Currently, the ex-deputy is wanted, he has been charged with high treason and encroachment on the territorial integrity of Ukraine. However, even before these events, Rabinovich was well aware that he might face arrest and confiscation of property, so he decided to take care of his assets. He delegated this task to his wife Irina.

In March 2018, it became known that Irina Rabinovich received 23 million hryvnia from Russian businessman Pavel Fuks. The amount was formalized as a “guarantee payment” for the purchase and sale of a land plot.

Irina indicated another interesting detail in the declaration - she lent her husband 13 million hryvnia. In addition, Irina Rabinovich demonstrated an extraordinary fortune: cash savings of 19.5 million hryvnia and 100 thousand US dollars. She also owned three luxury cars (Toyota Land Cruiser, Lexus LX470 and Lexus LX570), a boat and a jet ski, which only emphasizes the scale of the financial capabilities of the Rabinovich family.

And already a few months before the suspicion of treason against her husband was announced, Irina began to actively sell family assets. In particular, the woman sold three media and business related companies to new owners at surprisingly low prices. It is interesting that little-known people from Kyiv came to replace Irina, which raises rhetorical questions about the legality of these agreements.

The scandalous sale of an elite 2019 Toyota Land Cruiser SUV for a symbolic 100 thousand hryvnia (the real market value of the car reaches 2.5 million hryvnia) also caused a stir, because this deal looks like an obvious attempt to avoid confiscation of property.

Rabinovich, meanwhile, remains in Israel, where he tries to distance himself from the political life of Ukraine by recording videos on religious topics. While he tries to portray the role of a “spiritual leader,” Ukrainian authorities are actively investigating his activities and his wife’s financial maneuvers.
