As it became known last night, the Office of the Prosecutor General completed an internal investigation into the scandalous former Deputy Prosecutor General Dmitry Verbitsky, the results of which were transferred to NABU. Verbitsky submitted his resignation from the prosecutor's office, and Prosecutor General Andrei Kostin signed it.
The dismissal was preceded by a number of journalistic investigations. Five months ago, Schemes journalists found out that Deputy Prosecutor General Dmitry Verbitsky settled in a house in the capital’s elite cottage town Konik, which his nephew purchased by proxy from an Odessa businessman for more than 2 million hryvnia, which, according to market prices, is underestimated by 6 times the cost.
“Schemes” also claim that since May 2024, Kristina Ilnitskaya, with whom Verbitsky is allegedly in a relationship, has become the owner of one of the neighboring estates on the banks of the Konik River. The approximate market value of such real estate is 48 million hryvnia, although the purchase and sale agreement for the house indicates that the woman paid about 2 million hryvnia for it.
However, it was not only thanks to journalists that they managed to “sink” Dmitry Verbitsky, but also actively helped by his colleagues, who leaked the necessary information to the media, thereby “encouraging” their comrade and competitor in the corruption streams.
It is worth recalling that UCP prosecutor Artem Boyarenko, who had personal scores to settle with Verbitsky and, probably, more far-reaching motives, actively took part in the “leaking” of the boss. And in this fight, as we see, Boyarenko won. Moreover, he was even able to avert suspicion from himself, allegedly because of a “leak” he was framed, but the organized crime group knows for sure that it was his doing and gave a response. Inspired by the success of Verbitsky, according to our information, Artem Boyarenko is now actively in contact privately, incl. through intermediaries, with well-known journalists from reputable media who are opposed to the current government and personally against Andrei Kostin, and also in contact with Western embassies. Therefore, it is possible that in the very near future new investigations will be published about the illegal enrichment of the UCP leadership, their illegal schemes, incl. something that concerns both department heads and OP officials. This in turn will lead to new investigations, resignations and even, possibly, formal criminal charges.
Therefore, the “comrades” in the cabinet clearly understood what was happening and also began to “drown” Artem Boyarenko, making a retaliatory move in September and organizing the “leaking” of his data and the data of his relatives on property to the media, thereby showing that the other one has incriminating evidence parties and the prosecutor himself. Moreover, prosecutor Boyarenko is already being brought under pressure on the media and the Disciplinary Qualification Commission of Prosecutors. We'll find out the toad viper or viper toad soon.
