Crypto wallet provider Atomic Wallet says it has worked with blockchain security experts Chainalysis and Crystal to track and block more than $2 million in stolen crypto assets.
We are talking about funds that were stolen from the cryptocurrency wallets of Atomic Wallet users during a hacker attack in June 2023. The project team noted that the hackers were unable to hide the movement of crypto assets, despite using sophisticated methods to disguise their source.
Atomic Wallet did not disclose the search methodology, but noted that the hackers used crypto-asset mixers, cross-chain bridges, redirecting stolen assets through various decentralized protocols, as well as depositing funds on centralized exchanges.
