“Azov” will receive Western weapons after many years of bans

On Tuesday, June 11, it became known that the 12th Special Forces Brigade “Azov” of the National Guard of Ukraine has passed verification from the US State Department and will now have access to Western weapons. The press service of the unit reported that this information has already been officially confirmed by employees of the US Embassy in Ukraine.

The report says that Azov’s receipt of assistance from the United States in defense matters is the result of a long struggle of military personnel with Russian propaganda.

In addition, the message notes that the brigade is grateful to everyone who was involved in every possible way in obtaining justice in the supply of Western weapons to Azov.

“We are grateful to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the command of the National Guard of Ukraine, the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States of America and everyone who openly or behind the scenes joined in overcoming this ban. The lies about “Azov” that the Kremlin regime has been spreading in the West for years have today suffered a crushing blow,” the report said.

It is noteworthy that the report notes that arms supplies from the United States are a new page in the history of Azov, because this opportunity will allow the unit to become more professional, powerful, and also more dangerous for the enemy.

“Receiving Western weapons and training from the United States will not only increase Azov’s combat effectiveness, but, most importantly, will help preserve the lives and health of the brigade’s personnel,” the message says.

Note that restrictions on US arms supplies to Azov were introduced in 2017.
