Roman Grinkevich, who was detained in Odessa on the morning of January 22, was hiding from the investigative authorities in Kyiv.

The man then reached Odessa to leave Ukraine. But he failed to do this.

This was stated by Tatyana Sapyan, Communications Advisor for the DBR, during the telethon.

“At the beginning of January this year, a number of searches were carried out in the production of clothing for the army. Of course, being aware of the further consequences, the son of a Lviv businessman did not spend the night at home,” the statement says.

It is noted that 3 days after the searches, he decided to run away to avoid justice. According to the operational data of the DBR, on January 14, 15 and 16 he was incognito in Kyiv and, accordingly, moved around somewhere, and was also in the suburbs.

The DBR communications advisor said that he used secrecy measures each time so that he could not be traced. According to her, on January 16, he manages to leave the capital for Odessa, where he actively begins to look for people who, for a fee, would agree to illegally take him across the border.

“The suspect planned to do all this within 24 hours... He thought that within 24 hours he would find, so to speak, “accomplices” and would be able to cross the border. But it didn’t work out as we thought,” Sapyan said.
