“Despite this, the businessman, with the help of family connections and business partners, continued to coordinate criminal activities aimed at evading taxes on a particularly large scale and laundering funds obtained by criminal means, including from the illegal import of goods into the customs territory of Ukraine.” , the Bureau added.

Based on the results of 6 searches, detectives seized documents, computer equipment, as well as other items and things of evidentiary value for criminal proceedings.

According to analysts, the estimated losses from the illegal activities of the mentioned companies amount to UAH 127 million.

Investigative actions are ongoing and the full circle of persons involved in the crimes is being established. Procedural management is carried out by prosecutors of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

On December 28, President Vladimir Zelensky signed bill No. 5420, adopted by the Verkhovna Rada, which criminalizes smuggling.
