About 2,400 cargo vehicles are waiting to enter Ukraine at the border with Poland.
Representative of the State Border Service Andrey Demchenko announced this on the air of the United News telethon.
“Unfortunately, the blockade continues... As of this morning, according to the information we have from Polish colleagues, there are about 2,400 freight vehicles in queues towards Ukraine in Poland in all four directions. Most of them are opposite (the checkpoints) “Shegini” and “Rava-Russkaya,” Demchenko said.
He recalled that Polish protesters are also blocking the Yagodin and Krakovets checkpoints.
According to the speaker, a certain number of vehicles per day cross the border both to leave Poland and to enter, but this movement is not as intense as before the start of the protests, when about 1200-1300 trucks crossed the border.
Polish carriers began blocking the border on November 6. Among the main demands is the return of the practice of permits for Ukrainian carriers, abolished by the agreement with the European Union until June 30, 2024. Protesters want the permit-based border crossing regime to be resumed on January 1.
On Monday, December 4, a meeting of the European Union Transport Council will take place in Brussels. The main topic is the Polish transport industry.
