A “matchmaker” from the Odessa region was looking for disabled women for men who want to go abroad, as an accompaniment for sick wives - the fictitious marriage cost them $4,500. The illegal border crossing scheme was discovered by operatives of the Odessa border detachment and covered up by a “marriage agency.”
Law enforcement officers established that the organizer of the transfer of potential conscripts abroad was a 34-year-old resident of the Odessa region, who personally looked for men who wanted to avoid mobilization and leave the country.
A “matchmaker” for $4,500 offered them to marry women with disabilities to cross the state border in the status of an “accompanying person.” The attacker promised to find “brides” with the required disability group.
It is noted that such a “marriage agency” operated throughout Ukraine, offering women with disabilities from 18 to 57 years old to earn “easy money.” The organizer of the criminal scheme was caught red-handed while receiving funds for the marriage of one of the couples.
During searches, originals and copies of passport documents, marriage and divorce certificates, marriage contracts, disability certificates, MSEC and VLK conclusions on disability were found and confiscated in the households and vehicles of the owners of the “marriage agency.”
Currently, the organizer of the “marriage agency” and the “wife” with a disability have been declared suspected of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
