The former mayor of Irpen, Karplyuk, is brought to trial on charges of embezzlement of funds

At today's first court hearing, the case of the former mayor of Irpen, Vladimir Karplyuk, was considered.

He is being tried for the fact that in 2016 he signed an agreement with the controlled utility company Irpenzhilinveststroy to create design documentation for the construction of the Central Park. However, the actual construction work has already been completed.

Karplyuk received a criminal case under Part 4 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code (consumption of property by an official abusing his official position on a large scale). He faces 5 to 8 years in prison.
