The lawyer of the former director of the state enterprise Spetstechnoexport, Pavel Barbul, tried to appeal the plea agreement concluded with the ex-head of the contracts department of Spetstechnoexport, Valery Sinyakov, and his ex-deputy, Alexander Fatyanov, in a case in which Barbul does not appear. This is evidenced by data from the Judicial Authority and confirmed in the register of court decisions, reports “Word and Deed”.
As you know, on April 12, the anti-corruption court approved the prosecutor’s agreement with Sinyakov and Fatyanov. The court sentenced Sinyakov and Fatyanov to 5 years in prison and released them from punishment for a probationary period of 1 year. They were also banned from holding certain positions for three years and fined 11,900 UAH.
Under the terms of the agreement, Fatyanov and Sinyakov undertook to testify in a number of criminal proceedings, in particular, the events of which affect the period of Barbul’s leadership at Spetstechnoexport. Therefore, on May 17, a lawyer on behalf of Barbul filed a complaint about the deal in the case. The agreement allegedly violated Barbul’s rights and established that he had a relationship as a director of Spetstechnoexport with the companies Brasen Development LLP and FG Techcapital LTD. The court returned the complaint because it is impossible to identify the person based on the verdict and data from open sources.
“The appeal of the defense lawyer, filed in the interests of (Barbula, - Ed.), according to the verdict of the High Anti-Corruption Court dated April 12, 2024 in criminal proceedings on charges (Sinyakov and Fatyanov, - Ed.) of committing crimes under Part 2 of Art. 28 hours 2 tbsp. 364, part 2 art. 28 hours 1 tbsp. 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, return the person who filed it,” says the decision of the HACC Appeals Chamber dated May 20.
The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office accuses former director of Spetstechnoexport Pavel Barbul in another case of embezzlement of UAH 55.5 million. In February 2021, she was appointed for consideration on the merits.
