BlackRock CEO Larry Fink spoke about his attitude towards the first cryptocurrency. The head of the financial giant considers Bitcoin digital gold with great prospects.
According to Fink, the first cryptocurrency is “absolutely” worth investing in for the long term. The CEO of BlackRock is confident in the viability of the asset, as well as the wide possibilities of its application.
The entrepreneur admitted that for a long time he was a skeptic regarding crypto-assets and Bitcoin in particular. However, his opinion has changed and now Fink sees the first cryptocurrency as one of the alternative opportunities for saving and increasing investors’ capital.
“As you know, I was a “proud skeptic.” However, I studied the topic and came to the conclusion that my opinion five years ago was wrong. I now believe that Bitcoin is a legitimate financial instrument,” said the BlackRock CEO.
Larry Fink's words were supported by well-known supporters of the first cryptocurrency. For example, the founder of Dell, Michael Dell, commenting on the businessman’s statements, called Bitcoin “exciting.”
MicroStrategy co-founder Michael Saylor was not left out. He noted the BlackRock CEO's faith in the asset and reposted Dell's previously mentioned post.
Meanwhile, the rate of the first cryptocurrency continues to recover after a significant correction last week. At the time of writing, the price of Bitcoin is at $63,336, according to TradingView. The asset's market capitalization is $1.25 trillion.
