An official of the Kyiv Regional State Administration and a contractor “earned” more than 3 million UAH on the reconstruction of a children’s hospital

Law enforcement officers reported suspicions to an official of the Kyiv Police Department and an entrepreneur of embezzlement of budget funds. They earned more than UAH 3.1 million from the reconstruction of a children's hospital in Brovary.

This was reported in the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office. The suspects face up to 12 years in prison.

“The pre-trial investigation established that in 2021, an agreement was concluded between the Department of Regional Development of the Kyiv Regional State Administration and a private company for the reconstruction of the infectious diseases department of the Children's Hospital center in Brovary. Upon completion of the reconstruction, the head of the private company entered inaccurate data into the work completion certificates regarding the cost and volume of work performed,” the press service said.

As noted in the prosecutor's office, the official responsible for the technical supervision of the reconstruction from the customer - the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, accepted the work as completed in full.

As a result of such actions, more than UAH 3 million was groundlessly transferred from the local budget for uncompleted work, which was confirmed by the conclusion of a forensic economic examination. Criminal proceedings were initiated into the theft of budget funds, and the director of a private company and an official of the Kyiv OVA were informed of suspicion.
