In the Nikolayev region, an official of a military unit was exposed who illegally counted 1 million UAH of “combat” to his subordinates who were not in the combat zone. He could be jailed for 8 years.
This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigation
“From March to July 2022, the official made additional payments to 10 subordinate military personnel who allegedly performed combat missions on the front line.
Moreover, these persons were not in the area of combat operations, and some of them were completely absent from service without a valid reason,” the message says.
The official was informed of suspicion of negligence in service, which entailed grave consequences, committed under martial law (Part 4 of Article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
He faces up to 8 years in prison.
“Measures are being taken to compensate for the damage caused to the state,” the SBI added.
