Case worth 500 million: VAKS arrested in absentia the ex-head of the State Property Fund Sennichenko

The former head of the State Property Fund headed a criminal group that, during 2019–2021, seized more than UAH 500 million of funds from state-owned enterprises

Investigating judge VAKS supported the position of the SAPO prosecutor and chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for the former Chairman of the State Property Fund of Ukraine Dmitry Sennichenko.

The department reminds that the former head of the State Property Fund headed a criminal group, which during 2019 - 2021 took possession of more than 500 million UAH of funds from state-owned enterprises, including the most powerful chemical enterprise in Ukraine, Odessa Port Plant JSC, and one of the world’s largest manufacturers, United Mining -chemical company."

In addition, according to the SAPS, the group legalized proceeds from crime amounting to more than 10 billion hryvnia.

The suspect is on the international wanted list. The judge will be able to apply a preventive measure after delivering him to the place of the pre-trial investigation.

Let us recall that in March 2023, NABU announced the exposure of a criminal organization led by the former head of the State Property Fund Sennichenko, which in 2019-2021 seized more than UAH 500 million of funds from state-owned enterprises.

NABU believes that the ex-chairman of the State Property Fund, Dmitry Sennichenko, refused multimillion-dollar bribes several times in order to create an image for himself as a fighter against corruption. In fact, in this way he eliminated competitors.

In November, NABU renewed its suspicion of the former head of the State Property Fund Dmitry Sennichenko - now he is also suspected of laundering 10 billion hryvnia.
