Dollar millionaire forester from Rivne region Vitaliy Sukhovich was declared under suspicion

The SBI reported suspicion of illegal enrichment to a deputy of the Rivne Regional Council, who is also the deputy director of the regional office of the State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine”.

A law enforcement source confirmed to Suspilny that we are talking about Vitaliy Sukhovich, a deputy of the Rivne regional council from the Strength and Honor party.

According to investigators, the deputy illegally enriched himself by millions of dollars. During the investigation, more than four million dollars in cash in various currencies were found and confiscated from him.

The State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine” responded to Sukhovich’s suspicion. They noted that they could not dismiss him from the post of deputy head of the Polesie Forestry Office for six months and added that the defendant himself allegedly prevented this in various ways.

Background

The detainee was the head of the Rivne regional forestry and hunting department until February 2023, then he became one of the leaders of the Polesie forestry office of the State Agricultural Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine” created on its basis.

The SBI reports that they found cash worth $4 million in different currencies, three luxury cars AUDI Q8, MERCEDES-BENZ GLE 350E, BMW X5, jewelry, expensive watches, in particular, the luxury brand Patek Philippe, gold coins, gold bars, weapons . The deputy also owns four plots of land in Rivne, on which he built cottages and registered them in the name of controlled “nominee persons.”

The detainee is 44 years old. Since 2009, he has worked as director of the state-owned enterprise Vysotsky Forestry, and since March 2017, as head of the Rivne Regional Forestry and Hunting Department.
