Kyiv law enforcement officers exposed two men who, during martial law, provided conscripts with documents declaring them unfit for military service in order to freely leave Ukraine. For such actions they face up to 9 years in prison.
The press service of the Kiev police reported this
According to the report, a Kiev resident, together with a foreigner, set up a scheme to draw conclusions from a military medical commission about the unsuitability of men of conscription age for military service.
“During the pre-trial investigation, we established that for $4,000, the offenders produced and sold the findings of a military medical commission on the unfitness for military service of those liable for military service. During searches at their place of work and residence, draft forms of medical documentation were seized,” said Bogdan Zamula, head of the investigation department of the Svyatoshinsky police department.
Based on the collected evidence, investigators announced to the men that they were suspected of committing a criminal offense under Part 3 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine and sent a petition to the court to select a preventive measure in the form of detention.
The sanction of the article provides for up to nine years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years with confiscation of property.
As reported , military personnel of the “Velikiy Berezny” department detained four men who were trying to illegally cross the Ukrainian-Slovak border. One of the hijackers did not learn his lesson and tried to cross the border a second time, after he had already been “caught” escaping.
