Civil servants face the possibility of imprisonment for up to 12 years.
Two ex-officials of Ukrzaliznytsia illegally awarded bonuses worth UAH 1.6 million. They face 7 to 12 years. This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
It is noted that the prosecutor's office sent to court an indictment against two former officials of one of the branches of Ukrzaliznytsia on charges of embezzling someone else's property through abuse of official position, committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons, on an especially large scale.
According to the investigation, the accused, holding the positions of director and first deputy director of the branch of Ukrzaliznytsia JSC, without the consent of the members of the board, decided to illegally accrue and pay cash bonuses to employees of the branch for work that they did not perform.
“These actions of officials led to the waste of funds of Ukrzaliznytsia JSC in the amount of more than UAH 1.6 million,” the message says.
The sanction of the article provides for from seven to 12 years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years and with confiscation of property.
