The court decided that the former chairman of the Supreme Court, Vsevolod Knyazev, violated restrictions on gifts, and seized the gift worth 906.6 thousand.
This was reported by the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption.
The Pechersky District Court of Kyiv, based on materials from the NAPC, found Knyazev guilty of violating legal restrictions on receiving gifts
The court ordered Knyazev to pay a fine of 2,550 UAH and confiscated a gift in the amount of 906,600 UAH.
According to Part 2 of Art. 23 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Prevention of Corruption” judges are prohibited from accepting gifts whose value exceeds two subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons.
Violating this prohibition, the judge received a gift in the form of renting an apartment in the Pechersky district (Lipki) of the city of Kyiv with an area of 133 sq.m. at a price significantly lower than the minimum market value of rental housing.
Based on a real estate lease agreement concluded at the end of 2017, the judge rented an apartment for living with a monthly payment of 1 thousand hryvnia.
