The General Staff took action after discovering a listening device in Zaluzhny’s office

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine responded to a report of an accidental wiretapping, which, according to data, took place in the office of Commander-in-Chief Valery Zaluzhny on December 17.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the Facebook page of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The General Staff confirmed that yesterday, during a routine inspection of premises in one of the deployment locations, elements of equipment for obtaining information were discovered.

Listening devices were installed in offices intended for the work of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and employees of the Administration for supporting his activities.

“In order to establish the circumstances of this event, its consequences and those involved in it, the Security Service of Ukraine was notified,” the General Staff said.

Wiretapping Zaluzhny

Let us remind you that earlier an RBC-Ukraine source in military circles reported that a wiretap was found in the office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny today.

It was reported that the detected information reading devices were made from elements of an unknown type, which does not allow the installer to be identified.

The wiretapping itself was discovered yesterday while preparing the premises for work.

The Security Service of Ukraine has already opened criminal proceedings under Article 359 Part 2 (illegal acquisition, sale or use of special technical means of obtaining information) of the Criminal Code.

Today Zaluzhny responded for the first time to the news about the wiretapping . He confirmed the information and added that the wiretapping was found not only on him.
