German Foreign Minister Annalena Bärbock announced that Germany will provide another 20 million euros ($21.4 million) for humanitarian aid for Ukraine.
“We are once again increasing our humanitarian assistance. And this year it is already 380 million euros,” Berbock said at a joint press conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba in Kyiv, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
Bärbock emphasized that it is impossible to get used to Russian atrocities, which is why Germany supports Ukraine.
“We in Europe know: you also defend our European freedom. We are forever grateful to the Ukrainians for this,” she said.
Also, the head of the German Foreign Ministry expressed confidence that in the fall and winter the Russian Federation will again strike at Ukrainian energy facilities in order to cause the greatest harm to people.
She stressed that Germany will support Ukraine “as long as necessary.”
Baerbock visited Ukraine for the fourth time since February 2022 - since the beginning of full-scale Russian aggression in Ukraine.
