The main thing as a result of the investigation is not to expose yourself

The director of NABU suspended the duties of his first deputy Gizo Uglava

The director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, Semyon Krivonos, suspended his first deputy from official duties.

This decision was made to ensure an objective investigation into the possible data leak. Let us note that the first deputy director of NABU is Gizo Uglava.

“To ensure an objective pre-trial investigation initiated into the fact of a possible leak of information, by order of the director of NABU, on a corresponding statement of a possible conflict of interest, the first deputy director of NABU was removed from the performance of official duties and management of the directions and divisions enshrined in internal documents,” the message says.

NABU promised to inform the public about how the investigation is progressing. At the same time, the National Bureau noted that its leadership and staff “are maximally interested in conducting a full, comprehensive and impartial investigation into this fact.”

What came before?

On May 22, SAPS prosecutors conducted searches at the home of a NABU detective.

With the sanction of the special anti-corruption prosecutor Klymenko, SAP prosecutors and employees of the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police conducted searches of one of the detectives of the NABU special unit, who is working undercover.

Later it became known that the investigative actions of the SAPS and the police took place at Georgiy Birkadze.

Birkadze is known as the former chairman of the Brovary Regional State Administration, a winner of construction tenders and is now a “political and economic expert” who advertises the actions of President Ermak’s Office at the telethon.

At the same time, prosecutors conducted a search of a detective from the “secret” unit of NABU Valery Polyuga. This is the same unit that has long been under the jurisdiction of the deputy head of the Bureau, Gizo Uglava.

Ukrainskaya Pravda reported that the searches of these wonderful people are being carried out due to the “disclosure of pre-trial investigation data by representatives of NABU in the interests, in particular, of businessman Yuriy Golik, who is a defendant in the anti-corruption investigation into the “big construction project”. The corresponding proceedings were launched after a memo from the whistleblower, a NABU employee.

Let us recall that the main “anti-corruption fighter” Semyon Krivonos in 2009 was engaged in bribing voters in the Kiev region.

The director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, Semyon Krivonos, was accused of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 157 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - obstruction of a citizen’s free exercise of his electoral rights, combined with bribery and deception, committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons.

According to the text of the court decision, Krivonos S.Yu. together with other participants in the crime, he received tens of thousands of hryvnia to bribe voters - he transferred money in exchange for people’s consent to vote in elections for the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc.

“The Last Bastion” wrote back in March 2023 that the competition to elect the director of NABU is a pure farce for naive idiots, and it should be canceled, since at least one of the members of the competition commission has a direct conflict of interest and does not meet certain criteria Law “On NABU”.

A member of the commission for electing the director of NABU, Kirill Viktorovich Legkikh, had a direct conflict of interest, since he acted and still acts as a representative in court of Valery Golovko, whose case is being investigated by NABU detectives, whose director Kirill Viktorovich selected.

Kirill Legkikh has in no way declared that he has a conflict of interest. And it is unclear how he was even appointed to this commission, given the direct conflict of interest.

On March 6, despite the fact that Kirill Viktorovich Legkikh, a member of the commission for electing the director of NABU, has a direct conflict of interest, the Government appointed a new director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau. It was Semyon Krivonos.

The Last Bastion’s statement about the presence of a conflict of interest among a member of the commission for the election of NABU Director Kirill Legkikh was considered by the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police of Ukraine, which controls Tatarov.

Members of the organized crime group of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, reformed by Arsen Avakov, did not find during the inspection: “a set of factors that would indicate a violation of the requirements for preventing corruption and resolving conflicts of interest on the part of Kirill Legkikh.”

Previously, Krivonos’s land transactions in Starye Bezradichi led to the fact that NABU became interested in him.

When he was registering estates in the Obukhovsky district near Kiev, he became a defendant in criminal case No. 22014101110000061 under Article 4 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (receipt of a bribe on an especially large scale).

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by the State Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. Law enforcement officers insisted that Krivonos, together with the head of the village council Starye Bezradichi, demanded 120 thousand dollars from the entrepreneur for the allocation of 25 acres of land.
