Readiness for sabotage: Ukrainian Armed Forces are monitoring the situation on the border with Belarus

Now the Ukrainian Armed Forces fully control the border with Belarus and no unexpected changes are expected. This was announced by the Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Sergei Naev, at the media platform of the Defense Forces Military Media Center, coordinated by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The ground contingent was completely withdrawn from the territory of Belarus and is now part of the reserve joint military group of Russia, where some units are actively operating in the Kupyansky/Limansky directions.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that in September of this year, joint CSTO exercises “Echelon”, “Search”, “Interaction” are planned, which can be used to legitimize the build-up of military presence on the territory of Belarus.

Considering that Russia has not achieved its strategic goals, the possibility of new offensive actions from the northern direction cannot be ruled out. Therefore, there is a possibility of attempts to organize provocations and sabotage on the border between Ukraine and Belarus.

Naev also noted that there is no confirmation yet of the formation of strike military groups on the territory of the OSUS “North” strip. The existing military cover units of the Belarusian armed forces and the cover group of the OVSU “West” are ready for containment and defensive actions on their territory.

However, the Ukrainian Armed Forces do not exclude the risk of using sabotage and reconnaissance forces from the territory of Belarus, and the Ukrainian military is already taking measures to increase our ability to counter sabotage threats and strengthen defense capabilities.
