A group of young men was exposed by law enforcement agencies as planning a series of crimes in the capital

The offenders admitted that a Russian series about the criminal lives of teenagers inspired them to commit criminal acts that they wanted to imitate.

Teenagers, inspired by characters from a Russian TV series, organized and carried out an attack on a 16-year-old boy. Two alleged perpetrators, including a minor, were charged with robbery with violence. For the crime they committed, they face up to 10 years in prison.

At the beginning of December this year, a local resident contacted the Kyiv police with a report that unknown persons had beaten and robbed his 16-year-old son. Investigators, juvenile police officers, investigators and crime analysts were involved in solving this crime.

According to the head of the Podolsk police department, Yuri Trembitsky, during the search activities, law enforcement officers quickly identified the persons involved in the crime and took them to the police department:

“We learned that a group of young men, mostly minors, were planning to commit crimes in the capital. The attackers involved girls in their illegal activities, who were supposed to meet guys on the Internet and invite them on dates. Preference was given to owners of expensive gadgets. In the future, the company planned to rob those who came to the meeting. This happened this time too - the thugs beat up the guy when he was heading out on a date and took away his mobile phone. The victim’s gadget was immediately handed over to a pawnshop, and the “proceeds” were distributed among themselves. The offenders admitted that they were inspired to commit criminal acts by a Russian TV series about the criminal lives of teenagers, whom they wanted to imitate. “.

The police found the stolen mobile phone and seized it as evidence. Investigators informed two defendants, born in 2006 and 2007, of suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 4 of Art. 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is robbery combined with violence, committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons and during martial law. The sanction of the article provides for seven to ten years of imprisonment.
