Khoroshkovsky was milked, but Yarema was forgotten

The Cherkasy regional prosecutor's office returned 65 hectares of forest fund from private property through a judicial procedure. The land belonged to the former chairman of the SBU and first vice prime minister of Ukraine Valery Khoroshkovsky.

The owner of some plots is Valery Khoroshkovsky and his wife. In total, prosecutors returned 16 land plots in the Kanevsky district worth 1.5 billion hryvnia.

This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

According to law enforcement agencies, the land became the property of an official in 2005. The prosecutor's office responded to the violation of state interests and filed a lawsuit to return the land plots to state ownership.

The Office of the Prosecutor General noted that the case was considered twice by the Supreme Court, and during this time the defendants did not give up attempts to preserve the illegally acquired rights to the lands. In particular, Khoroshkovsky's representatives changed cadastral numbers and the configuration of plots, and also challenged court decisions and delayed the trial.

It is noteworthy that at the end of 2022, the Kanevsky City District Court of the Cherkasy region satisfied the claim of the prosecutor’s office, but the defendants again appealed the decision. When reviewing the case, the appellate court left the appeal without satisfaction, and the decision of the first instance was left unchanged. Therefore, it came into force.

The prosecutor's office also noted that the next step will be the implementation of the court decision, namely the acquisition of land into state ownership represented by the Cherkasy regional administration.

It is worth noting that the Office of the Prosecutor General did not disclose the identity of the ex-official. However, the published photo and former positions indicate that we are talking about Khoroshkovsky.
