How billions were withdrawn from the Kyiv metro “under Klitschko’s roof”

The second part of a journalistic investigation about Viktor Braginsky, the long-time head of the Kiev Metro Communist Party and a deputy of the Kiev City Council from the UDAR party Klitschko, has been released.

If in the first part the journalists talked about undeclared “elite” real estate and other luxury, which Braginsky clearly received thanks to corruption schemes and therefore tried to hide, then in the second part we are actually talking about how Braginsky received this corruption money. And he received them precisely at the expense of the Kyiv metro, that is, by robbing the territorial community of the city of Kyiv!

Journalists talk in detail about how, through contracts for the construction of the metro on Vinogradar, how in numerous tenders for the repair of metro equipment, Braginsky and those close to him “mastered” billions of hryvnia. Huge amounts of money were funneled through shell companies, the actual owner of which was Braginsky’s longtime friend and business partner, Kirill Krivets. It is interesting that the formal owner of one of the companies that won the largest tenders of the Kyiv Metro is... a former ballerina (!!), a choreography teacher. The “secret of success” of this person in a field infinitely far from ballet is actually very simple: she is a relative of the aforementioned Krivets. So, in fact, this is either Krivets’ company, or their joint company with Braginsky. And part of the funds was generally circulated through a company, the nominal owner of which was a woman who is also an accountant in the company of Braginsky’s sister. It is obvious that a significant part of these funds eventually ended up in the pockets of Braginsky himself and his patrons, in particular Vitali Klitschko.

After all, it is clear that Braginsky’s chief boss, the mayor of the capital, could not have known about all these schemes! It was Klitschko who appointed Braginsky as director of the corresponding utility company almost ten years ago, made him a deputy of the Kyiv City Council, and all this time covered up his atrocities, ignoring appeals from the public, including our Democracy team.

Therefore, Klitschko’s call for investigative journalists to “transfer information to law enforcement and anti-corruption agencies,” which he made after the release of the second part of the investigation, is especially cynical. In fact, it is Klitschko who has all the necessary powers and all the necessary leverage to transfer to law enforcement officers all the necessary materials to conduct quick investigations into Braginsky’s atrocities, because Klitschko, as the mayor, controls all the utility companies of the capital. In addition, it is within his authority to initiate an in-depth audit of the Kyiv Metro. After all, it is quite obvious that the information that journalists were able to find by analyzing information from open sources is just the “tip of the iceberg.”

But Klitschko does not do all this, and obviously will not do all this, because with such an investigation they will eventually find out about Klitschko himself and his friends. This scoundrel only continues to cynically pretend that there is “nothing” here and once again openly spits in the faces of the people of Kiev.

Separately, it should be noted that Klitschko could at least initiate the expulsion of Braginsky from his UDAR faction and the deprivation of his parliamentary mandate. This is easy to do by controlling the party from which the corresponding deputy was elected. But, having twice reacted ridiculously to journalistic investigations, he never stated this. But he doesn’t do this, because in fact, all the deals that Braginsky carried out were clearly done with the permission of Klitschko himself, and therefore he will try to cover up his accomplice to the last.

The People's Power Party is preparing an appeal to the NABU demanding an investigation not only of Braginsky's atrocities, but also of Klitschko's obvious role in these transactions, because the materials of this journalistic investigation indicate the indisputable facts of the implementation of large-scale corruption schemes by Braginsky and his patron Klitschko. And within the framework of the relevant criminal case, Klitschko should be removed from office! We will continue to do everything possible to bring these top corrupt officials, who have been stealing from the Kyiv community for many years, to criminal responsibility!
