To hide his illegal enrichment, the corrupt official divorced his beloved wife.
The NACP, based on materials from the SBI and based on the results of monitoring the lifestyle of the ex-National Police officer, revealed signs of illegal enrichment in the amount of more than 12 million UAH. He could not explain the payment for the construction of a beach complex with a swimming pool and the difference between expenses and income of his ex-wife by 2.8 million
The NACP monitored the lifestyle of the ex-policeman and, based on data from the State Bureau of Investigation, discovered the presence of signs of a corruption-related criminal offense.
Suspicion was served, and the actions were qualified under Article 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which establishes liability for illicit enrichment).
The NAC found that the suspect acquired movable and immovable property (including at a reduced cost), intangible assets and registered them in the name of relatives and third parties.
To hide his condition, the official even officially dissolved his marriage, but continued to maintain family relationships with his ex-wife, as evidenced, in particular, by the birth of their second child and joint travel abroad.
In the course of monitoring the lifestyle of an official, the NACP did not establish the legal sources of origin of the funds of the ex-police officer and his relatives and third parties, in particular, for the acquisition of:
- apartments in Kyiv worth about 3 million UAH;
- land plot in Kyiv over 51 thousand UAH;
- a Lexus RX 350 car worth about UAH 1 million;
- Yamaha MT 09 motorcycle worth 50 thousand UAH;
- attracting 55 thousand USDT to a cryptocurrency wallet (equivalent to UAH 2.035 million);
- payment for goods/works/services for the construction of a beach complex with a swimming pool near Kiev for more than UAH 3 million;
- the excess of expenses over the ex-wife’s legal income by more than UAH 2.8 million.
The total value of illegal assets is UAH 12.2 million.
NAPC provided a request for explanation of income. In response, I received a message that the ex-police officer did not know anything about the crypto-wallet, and had no relation to the beach complex and the mentioned real estate.
