Kyiv will spend up to 300 million hryvnia on the improvement of city beaches

In Kyiv, in 2024-25, it is planned to create a large number of recreation areas near water bodies.

Information about this can be found in the published strategic development plan of the Pleso municipal enterprise until 2025.

In particular, it is planned to reconstruct the beach area on Bereznyaki, as well as the addition of new recreation areas near Lake Teremki and Lake Solnechnoe in Poznyaki. The cost of these works is generally estimated at up to 300 million hryvnia, which will be allocated from the city budget.

The strategic development plan of the Pleso CP also contains plans for the restoration and construction of new recreation areas. In 2024, significant costs are expected to be spent on repairs and renovation of the Bereznyaki beach, the Belaya recreation area, as well as the development of the area around the lakes on Teremki.

Next year, in 2025, it is planned to restore and update the recreation area near Lake Solnechnoye in Poznyaki. The cost of this project is also significant and can amount to up to 53 million hryvnia. In 2024, it is planned to spend up to 193 million hryvnia on the Kyiv beach, and in 2025 – up to 107 million hryvnia.

In addition, according to the plan, Pleso plans to carry out additional activities, such as poisoning mosquitoes and adding sand to strengthen coastlines. This plan was approved back in July 2022, although in May of the same year it was already known that Kyiv beaches would be closed due to the lack of necessary infrastructure.

According to the Department of Internal Financial Control and Audit of the Kyiv City Council, this plan was approved on July 25, 2022, although in May of the same year it was already known that Kyiv beaches would be closed due to the lack of shelter and storage facilities.

In addition, funding at the level of UAH 15 million is being considered for the clearing and improvement of various water bodies. for the Rusanovsky Canal this year and 13.8 million UAH. in 2025, as well as up to 20 million UAH. to Lake Gnilusha in the Desnyansky district in 2025. . The total amount spent on clearing various reservoirs will amount to a significant part of the budget in 2024/2025; funding is also planned at the level of 20.2 million UAH for the Nivka River in the Zhulyany microdistrict, as well as for surveying and clearing the Lybid River - 10 million UAH each . in 2024 and 2025.
