A Kiev prosecutor, after being arrested by the court, became the owner of a house worth 18 million hryvnia: “I can afford it”

Alexander Gutsulyak, head of the environmental department of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, suddenly moved to the luxurious Vitagrad cottage community. An interesting point: previously this village became the subject of a scandal due to problems with the land and the environment. The prices there are not ridiculous; houses cost from 18 million hryvnia.

It should be noted that in the fall of 2021, the court decided to arrest plots in Vitagrad, including due to problems with land and violations of environmental legislation.

However, a year later, the court overturned this arrest, based on a letter from the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, which stated that there was insufficient evidence of violations.

And now, six months later, Gutsulyak moves to this discussed village. He chose a two-story cottage with an area of 180 square meters. m, costing about 18-19 million hryvnia, according to the developer. By the way, in the same month he bought himself a brand new 2022 BMW X5. Both of these assets are registered in his father's name.

In an interview with journalists, Gutsulyak claims that his move is not related to his work at the prosecutor’s office. He claims that the house was not bought, but was built, because his father bought a plot of land and began construction:

“No one bought the house, but they built it. Secondly, my father's house. He bought a plot and, accordingly, built a house.”

Gutsulyak’s declaration states that he paid only about 200 thousand hryvnia for almost 9 acres of land in Khodosovka. This seems wildly inexpensive, considering that now the price for one hundred square meters there is about the same.

At the same time, Gutsulyak claims that construction of the house began in early 2023, and he already moved in in the summer. However, aerial photographs show that construction started in the fall of 2021, and the house was ready by the spring of 2022. Gutsulyak simply said in this regard that it is “magic.”

Gutsulyak’s father Viktor told another version: the plot, according to him, was bought back in 2021, but they didn’t have time to register it because they “agreed with the developer.” According to him, Alexander did not know about the move and construction.

Victor also emphasized that he is successfully engaged in business and can afford such purchases:

"I am 63 years old. I can afford to buy a plot of land in any corner of Ukraine.”

My father not only bought land in Khodosovka, but also became the owner of two apartments - in Kyiv and Irpen. Given the prices of real estate and cars he was rumored to be buying, journalists believe that his official income could not cover such expenses in recent years.
