"Kievvodokanal" will purchase cleaning goods for 5 million

At a time when half of Kyiv is without water, Kievvodokanal has announced a tender for the purchase of kitchen utensils and household goods worth more than 5 million hryvnia.

According to the tender documentation posted on the Prozorro platform, PJSC AK Kyivvodokanal plans to purchase:

For the main office:

  • Sorghum broom – 260 pieces
  • Birch broom, double, premium – 500 pieces
  • Napkin 35 x 35 cm – 272 pieces
  • Porcelain tea cup 220 ml – 294 pieces

For the settlement department:

  • Disposable plastic glass 180 ml – 2700 packs
  • Kitchen sponge Freken Bock – 200 pieces
  • Metal sponge 8 x 1.2 x 2.5 cm – 100 packs

For the Water Supply Operations Department:

  • Galvanized bucket 10 l – 561 pieces
  • Sorghum broom premium – 1966 pieces
  • Plastic round broom with wooden holder

For the environmental supervision department:

  • Office trash and paper basket – 5 pieces
  • Sponge-napkin 15.7*16 – 24 pieces
  • Brush diameter of working part 20-25 mm, PA – 12 pieces
  • Stainless steel bucket with spout and graduation, volume 6 l – 8 pieces

The expected total purchase cost is UAH 5,068,193.01. The purchase is carried out at the expense of the own funds of PJSC AK Kyivvodokanal.

In conditions of war and constant water cuts, using such funds to buy brooms, buckets and brooms seems absurd. Is improving the working conditions for Kievvodokanal employees really more important than providing the population with water?

Perhaps these purchases are really needed to maintain cleanliness and order in enterprises, but in the current environment, many believe that such expenses should be postponed until better times. In the meantime, Kyiv residents continue to hope for a speedy improvement in the water supply situation.
