Former adviser to the mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko Maxim Bakhmatov said that over the past ten years the capital’s budget has lost at least 500 billion hryvnia. At the same time, he explained why the management of the capital by the team of the capital’s mayor was ineffective.
Bakhmatov spoke about this in an interview with journalist Natalya Moseychuk.
The mayor's team steals every third hryvnia
“Kyiv now has the largest budget after the military - UAH 80 billion. And, according to the State Bureau of Investigation, the local Kiev authorities steal every third hryvnia from them. They are not engaged in corruption, but in looting!” - Bakhmatov noted.
He added that during the ten years of Vitali Klitschko’s leadership, the Kiev city budget lost at least 500 billion hryvnia. He also noted that even while working as an adviser to the mayor, he was critical of his abilities.
“I criticize him as a manager and as a mayor. And when I was a councilor, I did this too. After all, when your rating automatically increases, then why make changes,” Bakhmatov noted.
