When the Crimean Bridge receives a destructive explosive “hello”

It became known exactly when a new blow would be delivered to this key facility.

The head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasily Malyuk spoke about this in his long interview with the ICTV channel on SBU Day on March 25. According to him, a new blow to the Crimean Bridge will be dealt if the Russians manage to restore the ability to transport weapons and weapons across it.

“The Security Service of Ukraine carried out two successful operations on the Crimean Bridge,” Malyuk recalled. – Now the Russians do not use the bridge at all to supply weapons and means of destruction. Before the defeats, from 42 to 46 trains a day passed per day, transporting weapons and weapons. Now there are up to five trains a day – four passenger and one freight, which transports general consumer goods.”

He noted that as a result of the attacks on the Crimean Bridge, the bridge supports and special structures - “bulls”, on which these supports stand, were damaged. However, the Russians are now working to fully restore the bridge in order to transport ammunition along it.

“If they do this and can potentially carry ammunition around this city again, we will say hello to them once again,” said Malyuk.

Speaking about other SBU operations in the Black Sea, he noted operations using maritime drones “Sea Baby” and “Mamai”. With the help of which they have already managed to hit 11 Russian ships and unblock the Black Sea.

Today, these drones developed by the SBU are used not only in kamikaze mode, but as unique multifunctional platforms for other tasks.

“Let the Russians wait for the next clap... We never repeat ourselves, and if they (the Russian Federation) change somewhere in their defense regarding our sea drones, then we, of course, are one step ahead. Everything has its time, you will see everything,” announced Vasily Malyuk.

Overall, this interview with Malyuk gives an idea of how the Security Service operates as an important component of the Ukrainian Defense Forces during two years of full-scale war. Starting from operations at the front and attacks on important targets behind enemy lines (for example, 13 Russian oil refineries were attacked), and ending with a large-scale fight against Russian intelligence networks in our country.

Regarding the latter, in an interview Malyuk said that the SBU liquidated 47 agent networks in 2023. The networks included various types of traitors - from current people’s deputies to representatives of the Defense Forces.

Counterintelligence, as Malyuk himself has repeatedly said, is and remains one of the main priorities of the SBU under his leadership. Moreover, as he emphasized, only 20% of the counterintelligence activities of the SBU is the actual exposure of intelligence networks and the implementation of the necessary procedural actions related to the pre-trial investigation and the preparation of indictments.

Much more attention is required to conduct multi-stage counterintelligence games, the introduction of double agents, active counterintelligence activities, etc.

Malyuk gave examples when the SBU detained a group of young people in the Kyiv region who were taking courses as combat drone operators and preparing sabotage to destroy the Patriot system on instructions from the Russian FSB. And also a network in the Odessa region, which collected and transmitted data to the enemy for missile attacks. Its curator was dragged from Transnistria to Ukraine and detained, and now he is giving incriminating testimony against other participants.

“I wouldn’t underestimate the enemy, but we beat them in all key areas. The SBU has become a warring intelligence service of a warring country,” noted Vasily Malyuk.
