The number of active users on the Starknet network dropped sharply after the announcement of the airdrop. At the time of writing, the figure stands at 84,260.
It should be noted that on February 14, 2024, the number of active wallets in the network crossed the 225,000 mark. Then the project team announced that on February 20 it would distribute tokens, and 1.3 million users would receive rewards.
Cointelegraph suggested that the decrease in activity on Starknet is due to community dissatisfaction with the criteria for receiving an airdrop.
As a reminder, those who made 5 or more transactions over three or more separate months totaling at least $100 and had 0.005 ETH or more in their wallet before November 15, 2023 are eligible for STRK rewards.
One user X (formerly Twitter) claimed that he did not receive tokens due to having less than 0.005 ETH in his wallet, but he transacted thousands of dollars and added liquidity to the network. Another community member called Starknet “the biggest scam in the L2 network system.”
Note that the Starknet team later reported that some network users were “left out due to certain criteria” and that they are working to resolve these problems.
