Kolomoisky loves a trinity: the oligarch received a new suspicion (fund withdrawal scheme)

He created a criminal group and embezzled 5.8 billion UAH: oligarch Igor Kolomoisky received new suspicion. The Security Service of Ukraine reported this and published a scheme for withdrawing funds.

The SBU, the Bureau of Economic Security and the Office of the Prosecutor General exposed new facts of criminal activity of the owner of a large financial and industrial group, Igor Kolomoisky.

According to investigators, between 2013 and 2014, Kolomoisky illegally took possession of UAH 5.8 billion. To do this, according to the SBU, the oligarch created a criminal group of PrivatBank employees, where he was the founder and shareholder.

Subordinates from the bank helped Kolomoisky make systematic fictitious “cash deposits into the bank’s cash desk,” although in reality the bank did not receive any contributions, law enforcement officials report. Then these fake “contributions” were credited to Kolomoisky’s personal account and became real non-cash funds.

According to investigators, such a “scheme” allowed the defendant to receive 5.8 billion UAH, which at that time was equivalent to more than 700 million dollars. USA.

To legalize virtual assets, Kolomoisky used them in his business activities. In particular, he gave them out as loans and used them to pay for the loans of enterprises under his control, took them abroad, cashed them and withdrew them at bank branches.

According to SBU materials, Kolomoisky was informed of additional suspicion under articles of the Criminal Code:

Part 3 Art. 27, part 3 art. 28, part 2 art. 200 (illegal actions with documents for transfer, payment cards and other means of access to bank accounts, electronic money, equipment for their production);

Part 3 Art. 27, part 5 art. 191 (seizure of someone else’s property by an official’s abuse of his official position, committed by an organized group, on an especially large scale);

Part 3 Art. 27, part 3 art. 209 (legalization of funds obtained from crime).

Let us recall that on September 2, oligarch Igor Kolomoisky officially received suspicion from the Security Service of Ukraine and the Bureau of Economic Security in the PrivatBank case. According to the SBU, the actual owner of a large financial and industrial group over the course of 7 years (from 2013 to 2020) allegedly legalized more than half a billion hryvnia by withdrawing funds abroad, using the infrastructure of controlled banking institutions.
