The Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence is considering the possibility of transferring the powers of the TCC and SP to civilian bodies. Options are now being explored to prevent a recurrence of situations such as in Odessa.
People's deputy, deputy chairman of the relevant committee Yegor Chernev (Servant of the People faction) spoke about this on air at the national telethon, Censor.NET reports with reference to Hromadske.
“This is a truly shameful situation when the military fights with doctors - I have never seen anything like this,” said the deputy, commenting on the fight between ambulance workers and the TCC on June 11 in Odessa.
According to Chernev, the relevant committee of the Verkhovna Rada is now exploring options on how to prevent similar situations from reoccurring in the future.
One of the options - still at the discussion level - is perhaps to transfer the functions of the TCC to some civilian bodies, that is, to remove it from the Armed Forces or the Ministry of Defense. But this is one of the options, perhaps one that will solve the problems or prevent such stories from happening,” Chernev emphasized.
The People's Deputy added that the Committee is waiting for “clearly written booking standards”; they must be made by the Cabinet of Ministers.
