To whom is war, and to whom is robbery?

Over five months, banks paid UAH 16.5 billion in profit tax, which is 1.6 times more than last year.

In the first five months of 2024, Ukrainian banks showed impressive financial results, despite an increase in income taxes. The country's 63 banks collectively earned almost UAH 68 billion in profit after tax, which is 27% more than in the same period last year.

Profit growth was observed in all categories of banks. State banks earned UAH 41.4 billion, foreign ones – UAH 16.23 billion, and banks with private capital – UAH 10.42 billion.

The leader in profit remains the state-owned PrivatBank, which earned UAH 23.96 billion, although this is 6% less than last year. Among foreign banks, Raiffeisen Bank leads with a profit of almost UAH 4 billion, which is 22% more than last year. Among private banks, FUIB received the largest profit – UAH 3.2 billion, which is 7% more than in the previous year.

The largest increase in profit was shown by MTB Bank, which increased it 13.6 times to UAH 436.77 million. Credit Agricole Bank also significantly increased its profit – 5 times to UAH 3.12 billion.

Overall, only 7 out of 63 banks suffered losses during this period. At the same time, the top ten most profitable banks accounted for 85% of the sector's total profits, highlighting market concentration.

The increase in bank profits occurred despite an increase in profit tax by 1.6 times, to UAH 16.5 billion.

For one there is war, grief, hardship. Bankers - excess profits from the robbery of the impoverished population.

What's wrong with the country?

In addition to the external enemy, we must also defeat the internal enemy, who, under slogans, hit the Ukrainians, dispossessing them.
