Who is Nikolai Tishchenko really? Politician, businessman, bandit?

Since the days of the “dashing nineties”, Tishchenko’s confidence in his own impunity has remained unchanged

The scandalous people's deputy Nikolai Tishchenko, who was placed under house arrest in the case of attacking and beating an ex-military soldier in the Dnieper, has a vivid and rather criminal biography.

Not everyone remembers him as “Kolya Obolonsky.” Moreover, his criminal past. The first earnings that he is proud of began with ordinary racketeering. Such details were told by another people's deputy Geo Leros, previously expelled from the Servant of the People faction, on his YouTube channel. He published a video where he spoke about the alleged criminal past of the deputy chairman of the Servant of the People faction, Tishchenko.

Ukrainian investigators decided to understand more about the people’s deputy’s biography. It is known that in the early 90s, law enforcement officers were looking into Tishchenko’s face. It was from the published internal databases that the then police became aware of Tishchenko’s criminal career and his role in organized criminal groups, writes delo.ua.

At that time, the Organized Crime Control Department was investigating Tishchenko’s affairs, and operatives established Kolya Obolonsky’s involvement in the heroin trade. Data on this were systematically entered into the internal database of the law enforcement agency. It includes the weight of the drug, specific amounts, and even points of sale where Tishchenko made money from drugs. Even then, these were restaurants - “Richelieu”, “Vasilyok”, as well as points in the markets; it was by protecting such trade that Tishchenko earned his first fortune, which he is so proud of.

The media and the “roof” in high positions in pro-government circles did everything possible to hide the story of Tishchenko and the real murder. In the late 90s, Kolya Obolonsky felt as unpunished as possible, as he does now. In one of the capital's cafes on Konstantinovskaya Street, he took part in a brawl when the victim was beaten to death.

According to law enforcement officials who investigated Tishchenko’s involvement, they found out that it was the then young athlete who beat to death a visitor to the establishment. But all the materials of this case were destroyed, as well as the evidence, namely, they forgot to remove the mention only from the internal database of the Organized Crime Control Department.

In fact, Tishchenko appears in at least two cases of murder. Another crime occurred right on Khreshchatyk, and the victim was the bandit “Savlokha” from the group to which Tishchenko belonged. It was about extortion of money, participation in banal racketeering and death threats against the director of the Bingo club, Razvodovsky. This case was also closed.

Even such a criminal past did not prevent Tishchenko from running for the Verkhovna Rada from the party of President Vladimir Zelensky.

It was with this background that Nikolai Tishchenko came to the pro-government team, remains in the Ukrainian Parliament and is not even afraid of making these shameful facts public - since the days of the “dashing nineties” Tishchenko’s confidence in his own impunity has remained unchanged.

Let us remind you that on June 20, in the center of Dnieper, a group of people in balaclavas and camouflage attacked former Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman Dmitry Pavlov, known by his call sign “Son.” The incident occurred after a dispute between Pavlov and Tishchenko and his team over their walking around the city with weapons and in military uniform. A policeman from Kyiv also took part in the fight, who was subsequently fired.

The State Bureau of Investigation conducted a search at Tishchenko’s place and declared him suspicious of unlawful deprivation of liberty (Part 2 of Article 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). When presenting the suspicion, Tishchenko broke his phone, but the DBI assured that this would not prevent the investigation from obtaining the necessary information. Another person who participated in illegal actions was also suspected under Part 2 of Art. 127 and part 2 of Art. 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The name of this person has not been disclosed.

On Tuesday, June 25, the court granted the prosecutors' request to apply a preventive measure in the form of 24-hour house arrest for Tishchenko. He will serve house arrest in the elite residential complex “Pechersky” on Druzhba Narodov in Kyiv. Among his neighbors are football player Sergei Rebrov and deputy Larisa Bilozir. Defense Minister Rustem Umerov lives in the residential complex opposite.

After this trial, Tishchenko was spotted at the five-star Hyatt hotel in Kyiv. The bracelet was put on him only at 22:30 on Tuesday, June 25, since the procedure for registering a preventive measure took up the time during which Tishchenko could move around the city.
