A lover of luxury holidays, Oleg Malchik can head Ukrnaftoburenie

On March 11, Ukrnaftobureniya expects the official appointment of a new chairman of the board

According to preliminary data, this position will probably continue to be held by Oleg Malchik, who is currently acting as chairman of the board. If this happens, the Boy will receive a new five-year contract with significant salaries, bonuses and a “golden parachute” in the event of dismissal.

However, according to political expert Mikhail Schneider, Boy’s activities at the head of the company were marked by a number of controversial decisions. In particular, during his leadership, key lawyers were fired, which led to the loss of an important lawsuit from the State Geological Authority, which is why the company has not been able to produce gas for the fourth month, and the state is losing about 400 million hryvnia in royalties and taxes every month.

In addition, Schneider claims that the Boy used his official position to organize business trips to Warsaw under the guise of work trips to Prague. According to him, in fact these were trips to family, and business trips were recorded as a formality for crossing the border. Only one such trip cost the company more than 100 thousand hryvnia, and in total in October-November the Boy made four such trips worth 509,149 hryvnia.

Against the backdrop of these events, Sergei Koretsky, the head of Ukrnafta, who is actively lobbying for the appointment of Boy, looks especially noteworthy. Koretsky, according to Schneider, was able to create his own business with Ukrnafta, registered in the name of his wife’s sister. At the same time, the state company makes purchases from Koretsky’s business partner, Mr. Svirsky.

The situation with the expected appointment of a new head of Ukrnaftobureniya calls into question not only the ethics of management, but also the effectiveness of managing state assets. This story could attract the attention of government authorities if they decide to dig deeper into the details of the company's management.
