MAGURA V5, a maritime drone, can now be used to survey and detect mines in water areas

As a result of development by the Ukrainian defense industry, a drone capable of laying mines in water areas was created on the basis of the Magura V5 maritime drone. The Ukrainian military organization has successfully carried out many operations using these mining drones. According to the information presented in the NYT article, it was precisely because of this factor that the leadership of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation decided to redeploy warships to the port of Novorossiysk.

Journalists from the American publication provide photos of the standard modification of the Magura V5. It is unknown what the mining drone looks like. By the way, the occupiers were the first to report that Ukrainian drones had learned to mine the water area. At the beginning of December, a note was published in the departmental publication “Morskoy Sbornik” that on October 14, in the roadstead of Sevastopol Bay, minesweepers carried out combat mine sweeping.

The transfer of ships to Novorossiysk began just in October. Almost all Caliber carriers left Sevastopol Bay. If they were indeed transferred to the mainland port because of Ukrainian mining drones, then the likelihood of their return to Crimea is negligible.

By the way, about a week ago in Russia there was a presentation of the unmanned kamikaze boat “Dandelion”, capable of carrying 600 kg of explosives on board. The declared range of the vessel is 200 km.
