The mother of top SBU official Anatoly Loif, who heads the department dealing with economic issues, owns luxury real estate in the capital and suburbs totaling more than UAH 16 million. She herself lives in Transcarpathia and works as a language teacher at a college.
Anatoly Loif is an employee of the SBU who replaced Artem Shila in his position, the ex-head of the so-called business division of the special service. There are almost no mentions of Anatoly Loif on the Internet, the official’s declaration is closed, so Ukrainians cannot see what property the SBU officer owns and uses.
Journalists investigated the fortune of Loif's family and discovered that he himself does not have a single property registered in his name. However, attention is drawn to the property of his mother Anna, who works as a teacher of French and Latin in the small town of Beregovo in Transcarpathia.
During the full-scale invasion, in June 2023, the official’s mother acquired two plots of land in the cottage town of Roslavichy, which is located less than 30 minutes from Kyiv.
Currently, a nearly completed cottage stands on her property.
Two-story houses without renovation in this cottage town sell from 235 thousand dollars.
At the same time, architect Oleg Grechukh estimated the cost of building this cottage at least 150 thousand dollars (about 6 million hryvnia). Considering that, according to the data we received, the land under the cottage cost the mother 270 thousand hryvnia, the total cost of this property could reach 6.2 million UAH.
Anna Loif also purchased an apartment in a premium class residential complex with an area of 155.6 square meters back in March 2020. m.
A renovated apartment in this building of almost the same area is now being sold for $850 thousand.
By the way, in the same building, the wife of SBU General Ilya Vityuk, about whom Investigative.Info recently reported, owns an apartment.
The real estate website noted that in March 2020, the average price per square meter without renovation was $2,400. That is, the market value of this property at the time of purchase was about 370 thousand dollars or almost 10.4 million UAH.
This apartment was captured by Grigory Loif, the official’s father, in his 2020 declaration. My husband previously worked at Transcarpathian customs. In the document, he indicates that the apartment cost Anna Loif only 3.9 million UAH. That is, the price indicated in the declaration looks like 2.5 times less than the market price.
Anatoly Loif and his mother did not answer journalists’ calls.
In response to a request regarding the property of the official’s mother, the SBU claims that Loif’s mother acquired only the land under the cottage; the construction of the house was financed by a third party (individual entrepreneur) “for further sale and distribution of profits.”
As for the apartment in the capital's premium residential complex, the SBU notes that the price of 3.9 million was the market price at the time of purchase. And the official’s mother was able to purchase an apartment through the sale of previous real estate, her earnings and her own many years of savings.
At the same time, Anatoly Loif’s father, Gregory, did not declare any savings of his or his wife in 2019.
However, the declaration for 2020 noted that Anna Loif, as a sole proprietor, earned more than 1 million hryvnia. Indeed, journalists discovered that such a sole proprietorship exists and provides educational services. True, there is no information in open sources about the tutor Anna Leuf and her services. “I have no idea at all, I don’t know about individual entrepreneurs,” Maryana Gaal, director of the Beregovo Medical College, told Slidstvo.Info.
Let us remind you that earlier “Investigation.Info” discovered that the wife of the head of the cybersecurity department of the SBU Ilya Vityuk earned 13.4 million hryvnia as a sole proprietor. In the same year, when the woman declared such earnings, she bought an apartment in a new premium class building in the capital’s Pechersk. Journalists were unable to find information on how to order legal services for Yulia Vityuk. She herself declined to comment.
