On Thursday, July 18, the property of the former people's deputy and confidant of ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, suspected of financing occupational Russian groups, was seized.
This is stated in statements by the press services of the SBU and the Office of the Prosecutor General.
It should be noted: the departments did not name the suspect, however, according to Ukrayinska Pravda sources, the person involved in the case is Nikolai Yankovsky.
It is known that the list of the ex-deputy’s seized property includes 7 premium cars, including a Maybach, 4 apartments in Kyiv, a house and a plot of land near the capital, as well as bank accounts. The total value of all these assets is more than UAH 1 billion.
According to the investigation, a former henchman of Viktor Yanukovych, together with accomplices, in 2015 in the city of Gorlovka, Donetsk region, organized the wholesale production of medicines for illegal armed groups of the terrorist organization “DPR”. Subsequently, the medicines ended up in the first aid kits of the Russian military and Russian hospitals, pharmacies, etc. on the territory of temporarily occupied territories.
According to law enforcement officials, the ex-deputy left Ukraine even before the full-scale invasion, and his “business partners” continue to manage the illegal production of medicines.
Let us recall that the State Bureau of Investigation has collected evidence of the subversive activities of the Russian special service and its leader against Ukraine. The investigation claims that FSB director Bortnikov developed a criminal plan to suppress Ukrainian protests in 2013-2014, the goal of which was to annex part of the territory of Ukraine under the guise of “civil confrontation.”
