The Kyiv Metro Administration decided to cancel the contract for the construction of the metro in the direction of Vinogradar due to failure to meet the work deadlines.
This is stated on the procurement page in Prozorro.
It is noted that the terms of the contract determined the right of the customer to refuse the transaction and demand compensation for losses if the contractor did not start work on time or performs it so slowly that it is impossible to complete it within the contract period.
“Taking this into account, Kiev Metro refuses to undertake any obligations regarding the performance of construction work under the contract, as reported to the contractor,” the justification states.
Previously, UAH 4 billion was transferred to the contractor, taking into account the advance payment. Now the contractor “Kievmetrostroy” must return this advance.

Construction of new metro stations “Mostytskaya” and “Prospekt Pravdy” in Kyiv began in 2019. It was planned that they would open in December 2021.
In September 2021, the Kievmetrostroy company, which is the general contractor for the construction of two stations on Vinogradar, asked to postpone the contract. The builders then stated that they would not have time to complete the station by the end of 2021.
The company asked the court to postpone the delivery date from November 2021 to May 2023. In February 2023, Kievmetrostroy resumed construction of the metro to Vinogradar, but active construction has not been carried out since the fall of 2023.
