Microsoft and Amazon invested $5.6 billion in France as part of the annual Choose France summit.
Microsoft intends to allocate $4.3 billion to expand cloud and AI infrastructures.
The tech giant will expand its existing data centers in Paris and Marseille, and also build a new one in Mulhouse.
In addition, the company is investing in artificial intelligence training and support for the French technology industry.
According to Microsoft, the corporation will invest in the development of 25,000 advanced graphics processors by 2025. The company will also fund training for 1 million people and support for 2,500 startups in the field of artificial intelligence until 2027.
“This major investment demonstrates a strong commitment to supporting digital innovation and economic growth in France,” said Microsoft President Brad Smith.
Amazon has pledged to spend $1.3 billion to develop its operations in the country. The company intends to create more than 3,000 jobs in France, as well as expand its logistics network and cloud infrastructure in Paris to support the development of general AI (AGI).
Together with investments from Microsoft and Amazon, France raised $16.17 billion from foreign companies. This is a record amount since the first summit in 2018.
According to President Emmanuel Macron, the investment includes 56 different business projects and could lead to the creation of 10,000 jobs.
