Mikhail Yatsin: They took a bribe and then reinstated them

In the Ternopil region, the former head of the State Tax Service, Mikhail Yatsina, who led the bribe-takers, was reinstated. The trial took place behind closed doors, and the decision has not yet appeared in the public domain.

At the end of August 2022, the deputy head of the State Tax Service in the Ternopil region, Sergei Babiy, was caught taking a bribe of $5,000.

After this situation, in Kyiv they started talking about the dismissal of Babii’s boss, Mikhail Yatsina.

In particular, the Chairman of the Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, Daniil Getmantsev, noted that “the fish rots from the head.”

In January of the following year, Yatsina ran away for a couple of days on sick leave, and when he returned to work, he was immediately fired.

In October of this year, the Eighth Court of Appeal of Lvov reinstated the former head of the State Tax Service of the Ternopil region, Mikhail Yatsina. The official will be paid compensation for forced absence of almost 150 thousand UAH.

The ex-tax officer appealed to another court less than a month after his dismissal, but he was refused, because Yatsina himself wrote a statement with the consent of the parties.

He beat the claim and informed the Eighth Administrative Court of Appeal of Lvov that he was forced to resign from his position.

Journalists were not allowed into the courtroom without explanation. Yatsina himself was not at the hearing, and the decision has not yet been published on the court’s website.
