Billions of aid and the specter of “peace negotiations”: why Zelensky is flying to the USA
The White House plans to conclude a bipartisan agreement in Congress this week that would unfreeze military aid to Ukraine and Israel in exchange for the construction of a “Trumpist Great Wall” on the border with Mexico. Democratic Senator Chris Murphy clarified that the agreements are still being finalized. It is logical to assume that the Ukrainian president is flying to Washington to put the finishing touches on the overall picture of overcoming the inter-party crisis.
But it seems that this is not the only purpose of the visit.
The Kremlin Fuhrer has let the “negotiation genie” out of the bottle. Putin specially flew to Saudi Arabia and the Emirates to involve local politicians in the so-called. “peace negotiations” with Kyiv. Western intelligence services hint about this in various publications.
Officially, Muscovite propagandists claim that their overlord visited Abu Dhabi and Riyadh to walk through ranks of exotic combat animals - combat camels - and talk about oil. The Russians and the Saudis and Emiratis have a severe existential conflict: the wise and rich Arabs are urging OPEC to limit hydrocarbon production so that world prices will rise. While the Kremlin “sheikh” pumps oil like crazy, not paying attention to either the market situation or common sense. And it is not yet clear whether the parties will be able to find a common “oil” denominator.
At the same time, Saudi Arabia and the UAE are trying to become an influential international political hub. The Saudis and Emiratis, for example, considered supporting the Palestinian people in the war with Israel. But then they “consulted” well with the head of the US State Department, Blinken, and decided to save the Palestinians from Hamas. To be completely honest, it was Washington, Abu Dhabi and Riyadh that saved Jerusalem from a large-scale war in the region.
The Arabs also play an important mediating role in the Muscovite war against Ukraine: through them, in particular, part of the agreements on the exchange of prisoners of war is concluded. Moreover, neither the Saudis nor the Emiratis are in a hurry to condemn the bunker for his war crimes. This is a kind of neutrality with a Kremlin star in your bosom. It is logical that Putin decided to negotiate with them about mediation in the negotiations: since they managed to so quickly find a common language with the United States on Israel, then maybe the same thing will happen on Ukraine.
Meanwhile, in the Russian Federation there is propaganda excitement regarding “peace negotiations.” Putin’s henchmen talk about this from almost every vacuum cleaner and refrigerator, and the former leader of Yabloko, Grigory Yavlinsky, even shook off the mothballs, met with the Kremlin dictator and, taking the bait, is preparing to become the Kremlin’s envoy in “peace negotiations” with Ukraine.
Apparently, Washington, Riyadh and Abu Dhabi have already discussed the contours of the negotiation process, and now the United States is sticking to the promise of “nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine”, speaking out loud about “peace negotiations” and their conditions.
“We want to put Ukraine in a position by the end of next year where Russia will have to make a decision about whether to come to the negotiating table with terms acceptable to Ukraine or face a stronger Ukraine,” Jonathan Feiner, Principal Deputy Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs .
The White House’s optimism is based on the fact that “Ukraine will be able to launch a new offensive, since it will rely on a more powerful industrial base of the United States and Europe, which will increase the capacity of their military-industrial complex, as well as Ukraine itself,” Feiner. The details, it is worth thinking, will already be communicated personally to Zelensky.
Nothing to add here. We are waiting for news.
