The portal's journalists asked the question: who is restoring and fighting for our ecology, against the backdrop of the aggressor's encroachments on it. And it turns out there is no answer to this question! In the time since the disaster, no water treatment facilities have been installed at the Kakhovskaya HPP, nothing has been done to localize the spread of bacteria from cemeteries and cattle burial grounds, and there is no information about what is happening to overcome the environmental disaster.
Minister Sagittarius is silent and simply stepped away, but on the spot people even thank the tablets for water disinfection. Just on the eve of the hydroelectric power station explosion, the State Agency suddenly lost its leader, and Natalya Sergeevna Latysh, a person who several years ago worked in the minister’s native Dnepropetrovsk Regional State Administration as a specialist, is temporarily performing duties, and, obviously, cannot adequately respond to such large-scale challenges. Having asked ourselves the question about Kakhovka, we looked at other areas that Minister Sagittarius should coordinate in the environment.
Regarding the exclusion zone, there is also a strange appointment of Andrei Aleksandrovich Timchuk, a native of the same Dnepropetrovsk Regional State Administration, and dry information about significant international assistance, but where is the exclusion zone, and where is the ministry? This fact attracted the attention of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy on July 11, 2023, which decided to investigate such an appointment. It turned out that Timchuk in every position was the center of corruption scandals, criminal cases and court battles.
How can a person who has nothing to do with radioactive waste manage the exclusion zone, and now he manages not only the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, but also the Chernobyl Nature Reserve with 220 thousand hectares of forests, and the Northern Pushcha DSP with a departmental fire department that is responsible for fire safety in the red forest. The exclusion zone is a strategic security facility on the border with the aggressor country, and a person is appointed there who regularly visits Crimea after the occupation, has an operating business and real estate there, and also believes that “whose Crimea is” is a complex question. Didn't the Minister of Ecology assign a lot of responsibility to his colleague Timchuk?
The committee sent the corresponding appeals from the words of People's Deputy Roman Ivanisov to the Security Service of Ukraine, NAPC, the office of the President and Prime Minister. We hope this time Timchuk will not be able, as he himself admitted to journalists, to solve this issue for 50 thousand US dollars.
There is also a problem with forests - after the creation of the State Forestry of Ukraine - State Forestry Agency, there is virtually no leadership, functionality and land under forestry enterprises, and all the finances of the industry have gone out of the control of the minister somewhere higher. VSK was created to control forest and water resources and records crazy violations on a weekly basis. Law enforcement officers record wood thefts. State processing, which in recent years has been updated with public funds, is going bankrupt and is planning to be auctioned off to the right private owners, so that the state enterprise sells only raw materials, and the added value is received by close commercial structures.
It’s sad, but everyone has to give their all during a war, so why isn’t the environment a priority in the state? Who thinks about our environment, our children and real actions that are a counterbalance to the harm that the Russian Federation causes to us.
The bottom line is that specialists are leaving the ministry, and professional people are being fired throughout the vertical, citizens are left alone with problems, industries that can generate billions of hryvnias in income are driven to bankruptcy, but they are using foreign grant and loan funds, wasting state budget funds, but there are no real results.
When will we work for results in ecology, and not sign worthless memorandums and post photos on Facebook? Maybe it’s time to appoint not friends, but professionals who will work in the interests of the country?
