Fraudsters disguised as an online store scam military and volunteers out of money

Due to the huge demand for military ammunition in Ukraine, Internet scammers have become more active. In particular, a page appeared on the Instagram social network wolf_knife_2020, supposedly an online store selling military and army tactical knives.

At first glance, the wolf_knife_2020 page does not raise any suspicions: a large number of subscribers, polite managers. After placing an order, they are asked to make an advance payment of 50% to a bank card, the buyer must transfer the remaining amount upon receipt of the goods by Nova Poshta. Usually volunteers and military personnel unsuspectingly transfer 50% and wait for the goods. The first day after the transfer of funds, wolf_knife_2020 managers still communicate with the “victim”, then they stop answering calls and messages. The goods naturally do not arrive.

Any fraud is bad, but it is especially bad when military personnel and volunteers become victims of “divorce.”

It is worth noting that the price of one product is from 5 to 20 thousand hryvnia, and the order is usually no less than 10 units of goods. Thus, wolf_knife_2020 scammers earn tens of thousands of hryvnia per month from military volunteers.
