On the border with Poland, Lviv border guards detained two stolen Land Rover and Audi SUVs, which were stolen in Germany and Canada and were on the international wanted list of Interpol.
As reported on Monday, March 25, in the Western regional department of the State Tax Service, this weekend, servicemen from the Lvov detachment discovered stolen SUVs of a 2020 Land Rover and a 2019 Audi Q8. Cars driven by Ukrainian drivers were heading to Poland through the Krakovets and Shegini checkpoints.
During border control, the Interpol database was triggered. It turned out that vehicles with Ukrainian registration were stolen in Germany and Canada, respectively.
Border guards informed the Ukrainian Interpol Bureau about these facts and received confirmation of the information about the cars. The vehicles, along with the drivers, were handed over to National Police officers.
Note that the average market value of the 2019 Audi Q8 is about 70 thousand dollars, and the 2020 Land Rover (Range Rover) is about 100 thousand dollars.
