On Friday, August 23, employees of the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police detained the deputy head of the Solonkovskaya OTG near Lviv, Andrei Zhidachek, for taking a bribe.
According to law enforcement officials, he demanded money to resolve land issues.
According to preliminary data, Andrei Zhidachek demanded $2,800 for help in resolving land matters. The exposure of an official for extortion and receiving illegal benefits was confirmed by the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police.
37-year-old Andrei Zhidachek holds the position of deputy chairman for the activities of executive bodies and international relations of the Solonkovskaya UTG, headed by ex-People's Deputy Bogdan Dubnevich. Previously, Andrei Zhidachek worked as an assistant to People's Deputy Bohdan Dubnevich.
Bogdan Dubnevich himself said that he was not on site, so he could not confirm or deny the detention of his deputy.
