“Heating up” capital schools by 3 million: the court recovered overpaid funds from the electricity supplier

The court responded to requests from juvenile prosecutors and decided to demand from the electricity supplier serving educational institutions in Kyiv almost 3 million hryvnia, which were paid overtime.

This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv city prosecutor's office.

Juvenile prosecutors achieved, through a court decision, the invalidation of payments in the amount of 2.9 million hryvnia, which were paid without reason for electricity from the enterprise.

It was established that between the Department of Education of the Dnieper district of Kyiv and the business entity, 8 additional agreements were concluded to the electricity purchase agreement, where the cost of electricity was doubled and the volume of supplies was reduced.

As a result, 2.9 million hryvnia of excess funds were paid to the electricity supplier from educational institutions.

After identifying violations of the law when concluding these additional agreements, the Dnieper District Prosecutor's Office of the city of Kyiv in June of this year filed a lawsuit to declare these agreements invalid and return the overpaid funds.

Thanks to the collected evidence, the court supported the prosecutor's arguments and fully satisfied the claims.

Currently, measures are being taken to enforce the court decision.
