Elena Khotenko, acting head of the tax service in the Sumy region, suddenly became the object of close attention on social networks. All because of her declaration, which includes a debt of almost 3 million hryvnia, taken from... her 12-year-old son.
In 2018, the son “helped” his mother with 2.8 million hryvnia, and only now it raised a lot of questions: how was the student able to give such a “loan”? Now the guy is 18 years old, and he is already a self-employed entrepreneur with an annual income of 3 million.

The house turned out to be a gift from Khotenko’s mother, who also generously “gave” her daughter two apartments: one in Rivne, the other in Kyiv. And here again there is a “surprise”: apartments are priced at ridiculous amounts - 50 thousand hryvnia for housing in the capital, where the market price starts at 600 thousand.
Khotenko has been “circumventing” the laws for many years - in 2015 they tried to lustrate her, but she successfully challenged this in court. In 2021, the NACP found signs of inaccurate data in her declaration, but instead of responding according to the law, Khotenko received a promotion.
The story of a debt from a 12-year-old son and suspiciously cheap purchases once again shows how easily some officials evade responsibility.
